Cancer Prevention and Screening Program

An ounce of prevention......

Cancer Prevention and Screening in Southeastern Ontario - A Call to Action

The Cancer 2020 document (available at www.cancercare.on.ca) delivers a “call to action” against the impact of cancer in Ontario. It notes that the time has come for strong, well-coordinated action to address “the slow epidemic of cancer in Ontario” and calls for solid, long-term initiatives for cancer prevention and early detection through screening. Cancer 2020 represents an ambitious plan with ambitious goals; the intent is to save lives. In Southeastern Ontario we are committed to these goals and will use them to guide the development of our Regional Prevention and Screening Program.
