Special Populations - Aboriginal Peoples
The profile of incidence and morbidity of cancers differs
from the general population in Ontario. For example cervical
cancer is 1.73 time higher in Status Indians. There is a diverse
regional Aboriginal population:
- Cultural diversity –Cree, Ojibwa, Iroquois
- Christian and “traditional” spiritual
paths
